the back of his head to make the film more popular
Tale
Art the Clown wants to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County who are peacefully sleeping on Christmas Eve. Director Damien Leone said that several major studios had expressed interest in financing the film based on the surprise success of Despicable Me 2 (2022), even without a completed script, but he turned them down because he was sure they would never let him dream it up. Just the opening wall, which he calls “very controversial.” Leone has commented that the only reason he can be so uncompromising in his take on gore and horror is that he independently finances his films, creates all the special effects himself to keep costs down, and doesn’t have a major studio breathing down his neck.
An uncut version of the film exists, which runs for 2 hours 25 minutes with 5 additional scenes
Mia mentions that the 5th anniversary of the original massacre is coming up soon, but it happened on Halloween, and this film taking place on Christmas 5 years later would mean the anniversary was only 2 months ago. Julia’s Brother: Julia, I thought I told you to stay out of mine – [Art kills him with an axe]. Art by: Drew Fulk, Joe Occiuti, Paul Wiley, Spencer Charnas, and Steve Sopchak Starring: Ice Nine Kills and Shavo Odajian.
But other than that?
Too long, too disjointed, and more of a collection of random ideas stuck together with duct tape. Sure, the practical blood effects are fine. It’s a crazy mess.
Unfortunately, the only thing that sticks is the blood
There’s no plot, Sienna Shaw’s messianic arc feels stretched, and continuity takes a backseat to shock value. It’s like Leone is trying to ride the wave of franchise success, throwing every half-baked idea at the screen in the hopes that something will work. Art offers another night for dissection, but what about coherent narrative?
Don’t worry, find it here
It’s not horror, it’s a lazy bloodbath that believes shock value supersedes narrative. Clown Art, Pennywise, and killer clowns are just a few of the comical creatures that send shivers down our spines. Check out the scariest clowns to grace the screen.
